ART DEPARTMENT – "Behind the Curtain"
Who creates the visual world of a film?

The exhibition offers an insight into the diverse and often unseen work of the artists working behind the camera. It explores how a film’s visual world is created – from the initial ideas and concepts to the details that ultimately appear on screen.

Visual and concept designs, film architecture and sets, graphics, props, masks and prosthetics, plant and floral decorations, picture vehicles, and weapons reveal the complex creative process in which the expertise and creativity of numerous different professions come together.

The exhibition also features designs, sets, objects and behind-the-scenes materials created for major international productions. They offer a glimpse behind the scenes of filmmaking, revealing the meticulous planning, precise craftsmanship and hands-on work required to bring an imagined world to life on the screen.

The exhibition therefore presents not only the visual elements familiar from finished films, but also what lies behind them: the ideas, decisions and creative processes, as well as the artists whose work brings cinematic worlds to life.
