2. General Guidelines

Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.

Each creator may submit up to two films.

For films selected for competition, the festival provides accommodation and one meal per day for one creator.
3. Submissions
Entries for the 2026 Alexandre Trauner ART/Film Festival can be submitted exclusively via the FilmFreeway portal.
The shortlist will be published in August.
4. Tax and Administrative Requirements for Award Recipients
Payment of the award to foreign citizens is subject to the submission of a Tax Residency Certificate. For administrative and legal purposes, the festival will also request certain personal data from award recipients, which must be provided in order to process the payment.
5. Required Materials
All materials listed below must be available at the time of submission, and no later than the respective submission deadline. These materials are required for festival screening and catalogue production.

For screening (to be submitted by August 1, 2026):
Shortlisted films must be provided with burnt-in English subtitles if the original language is not English. If a subtitled version is not available during the submission period, the entry will be automatically disqualified.
Films submitted to our Signal Film competition must be complete at the time of submission! Technical specifications will be announced soon. All non-English language films must include burnt-in English subtitles for festival screening.
Please ensure that all required information and materials are uploaded to the film’s FilmFreeway profile at the time of submission, or updated no later than the applicable deadline.
Additionally, we kindly ask you to include all available promotional materials and contact details (press kit, trailer, official website, social media links) to support the promotion of the film.
By accepting to participate in the ATAFF competition program, rights holders agree to have their film screened in the Alexandre Trauner Art/Film Festival's "ATAFF Best of" program between October 1 and December 31, 2026 for public or educational screenings. A separate agreement will be sent out for the films to be included in the programme.

6. Things to know about the screening copies

All non-English language films must be provided with burnt-in English subtitles for screening at the festival.

We can accept films for pre-screening here on FilmFreeway.

The organisers of the screening are not in a position to pay a rental or screening fee for short films and documentaries.

Copies of the films selected for the Film Festival programme must be available to the organisers until 31 December 2026.

In the festival's competition program, films are presented in DCP format. More precise technical specifications will be announced soon, any inquiries regarding the technical specifications in case of being included in the competition program can be made via the email provided above.
