The Alexandre Trauner ART/Film Festival announces an open call for the creation of the festival’s official signal film.
We are looking for short, striking works that capture the spirit of the festival through a distinctive visual language. The technique is open: live-action, animation, or any combination thereof.
Only fully cleared (copyright-compliant) visual and musical content may be used in the signal films.
The top three submissions will receive awards.
ELIGIBILITY
The call is open to university students enrolled in film-related higher education programmes in Hungary or in Hungarian-language institutions abroad, provided they hold active student status at the time of the call.
We also welcome submissions from student teams of up to three members.
Each applicant (or team) may submit one work only.
CONTENT REQUIREMENTS
The film should align with the character and profile of the festival (see website link), while presenting a fresh, original perspective, visual style, or technical approach.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Full HD 1080p / 25 fps / stereo sound
Format: .mov or .mp4
SUBMISSION VERSIONS
Two versions of the completed work must be submitted:
1. Main Version
Exactly 30 seconds in length (25 fps / 750 frames).
The film must end exclusively with the ATAFF logo.
A short end credit (approximately 3 seconds) displaying the creators’ names must be included within the total 30-second duration.
File name format: CreatorName_ATAFFsignalfilm_year_v1
2. Extended Version
The first version supplemented with sponsor logos.
The end credit may also include the logo of the student’s educational institution.
If necessary, the total duration of this second version may slightly exceed 30 seconds.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE AND METHOD
Films must be submitted in high visual quality via an online downloadable link no later than August 1, 2026 through the Google Form.
PRE-SELECTION AND EVALUATION
A professional jury will select the awarded works from the submitted entries. The winning films will also be broadcast by two commercial television channels prior to the festival.
All submitted films will be screened at the festival. For each awarded film, one creator will be hosted by the organisers during the festival period.
