An auteur film is always marked by the director but many special areas of the film is done by creative work. The production designer is one of the most significant people of the group working on the film. The visual of the film can add a lot to the film for the audience to enjoy it. I think it is great if the production designers’ work can be in focus for the duration of a film festival and also good films can be watched!

Dreaming of exciting sets made from a lot of money is a great thing but we are often faced with the fact that we have to create sets from very little money; a design on which cannot be tracked poverty but it is thrilling.

The production designer of György Pálfi’s movie, Szabadesés was Imola Láng, who created fantastic sets in very short time and from very little budget. In the film we showed six different families’ story which happened in six flats in an apartment building. We have recorded each story only in two days and Imola had only one day to redesign the place and create a totally different interior of a flat. Pictures made in the film are at the same studio created with different style and therefore reflects various atmospheres.
