Next/Change program or exhanging ideas in Austria

Thanks to the Europa Cinemas Network the management of Tisza Cinema has participated in a 3-day-exchange program in Austria, Sankt Pölten and Baden where they visited two art house cinemas and exchanged ideas with the Austrian colleagues.

Tisza Cinema in Szolnok has been the member of Europa Cinemas since 2003. With the help of the network and its exchange program, Next/Change the workers of the Hungarian cinema could spend 3 days in Austria in two art house cinemas called Cinema Paradiso.

During the visit the art house cinema runners have exchanged ideas regarding the programming of the cinemas, problems of the operation, range of activities offered to the audience and got to acquainted with the advantages of the popular loyalty card, and the phenomenon of the Cinema Breakfast and so called Cine- Café.

The Austrian film theatres attract their audience with similar activities to the Hungarian Tisza Cinema. Both cinemas are situated on the pedestrian square with terrace, opportunity to eat and drink and with colorful programs in which there are film premiers followed by Q&A, concerts, literature events and many more. Such as the case in Hungary, in Tisza Cinema's offer. In 2019 the two Austrian cinemas had record nuber of visitors due to their wide range of high quality programs: outdoor film screenings and school screenings.

According to our plan we are going to introduce a similar club card to the Austrian one and welcome our guests with reduced rates from the first half of 2020. With this loyalty card our audience can attend film screenings, concerts and drink in the café on a reduced price.
